Every room, its own view: rethinking OMNIYON

On board, every room has its own purpose, and every person their own way of using it. The gym starts early, with music and the right temperature. The cinema comes alive in the evening, with the lights down and the screen up. The owner’s suite should feel calm the moment someone walks in.

Yet the system that runs them has usually looked the same everywhere. The same home screen, the same icons, the same steps, whoever you are and whichever room you are in.

The new OMNIYON starts from the opposite idea. Instead of asking people to adapt to the system, it adapts to the room and to the person using it. The current OMNIYON app is now ten years old. For the new version, we brought together a decade of our own experience, feedback from our clients and the eye of an experienced designer, to take it to the next level. We will be showing it for the first time at METSTRADE this November 17-19, 2026.

“A control system should understand how a yacht is really lived in, room by room and person by person, instead of asking everyone to work around it. That is the idea we built the new OMNIYON around.”

Understanding the new OMNIYON philosophy

From home screens to dashboards

In the current app, every screen opens on a fixed set of icons. In the new OMNIYON, each room, each tablet and each person can have a dashboard of their own, built from widgets that can be added, removed and resized. For example, in the gym, that might be a clock with timers, a favourite playlist and a couple of light scenes. In the cinema, a large overview of films to choose from.

It is a shift from icons to information. A screen should show what matters in that room, at that moment, for that person, rather than a menu of everything the system can do. The result is fewer taps between you and what you want to do.

A view of your own

Every person on board uses OMNIYON in their own way, so the new app is built around people as much as rooms. A profile brings together an owner’s or a guest’s own sources and accounts, and follows them from room to room. Start a series in the owner’s suite, and it picks up in the cinema exactly where it was left.

Each profile can have its own dashboard too, so the screen shows what that person reaches for most, wherever they are.

Profiles can be protected with a PIN or a password, so family members and guests each keep their own space, and no one lands in someone else’s account by accident.

The whole yacht, without walking every deck

Rooms are now organised by deck, or by floor in a residence, instead of one long list. From there, any room can be controlled directly: adjust its lights or send a source to it, without switching into that room first. A new map view brings lighting, audio and what is playing together in one place. Setting music across the whole yacht becomes a single action.

Choosing where something plays has changed too. Pick the source first, then the zones you want it in, and OMNIYON takes care of the routing. One overview shows what is playing where, so music in the main lounge can be stopped from the bridge deck lounge, without anyone going downstairs.

Small details that matter

Search now works across every source at once, with results appearing as you type. Routines go further, so the yacht can be made ready in one go rather than room by room. Powering everything off after a charter comes with a few seconds to change your mind. User profiles, protected by a PIN or a password, keep each person’s view their own.

More devices, more places

The new app will run on iPhone and iPad as it does today, and introduced on Android and in a web browser. For owners with more than one yacht or residence, switching between them takes a tap, and the app connects automatically on arrival.

The current OMNIYON app keeps working as it does, and the new app will run alongside it, so you can use whichever you prefer.

“At the end of a charter, we shut down every zone on board. Doing that from one screen, with a few seconds to cancel if someone is still watching, is exactly the kind of detail that makes a difference to our day.”

A first look at METSTRADE

This is a first look, and we would like you to try it for yourself.

Come and find us at METSTRADE in Amsterdam, Hall 8, Stand 691, from 17 to 19 November. Pick a room on our demo case, see how it responds, and tell us what your yacht would need.

In the meantime, you can read more about OMNIYON on our product page.
